FAQ for Imagine Yoga
Where should I park?
There are a few spots for Imagine Yoga Studio clients in the Country Square parking lot. Otherwise, there is ample street parking around. Also consider walking, biking or taking the bus to the studio.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring your own mat and a water bottle. The studio has blocks, straps, and bolsters. If you like to have a blanket, you’re welcome to bring one from home.
Can I drop in, or do I need to make a reservation?
We require students to sign up for classes in advance, sign up for a class online here or on the Mindbody app.
How early should I arrive?
Teachers are at the studio 15 minutes before class so, please do not arrive any earlier than that.
What is yoga? Why practice it?
Ask yoga students what “yoga” means to them and you’ll hear many different answers. Literally, the word “yoga” means: to unite. Today in the western world, “yoga” typically describes a physical practice that creates strength, flexibility and balance in the body and mind.
What should I wear?
You should wear comfortable form-fitting clothing that you can easily move in and will not be distracted by. Yoga is typically practiced in bare feet.
Which class is right for me?
Imagine Yoga Studio offers many different styles of yoga; it might take a few tries to find the teacher and class that works best for you. If you are brand new to yoga or if you have injuries or physical limitations we recommend that you start out with the Restorative, Calm, Calm Flow, Slow Flow, Alignment Flow or Movement and Meditation classes. Our Flow, and Power Flow classes will provide you with a more active practice. Anyone can attend these classes as modifications are offered throughout. No matter what yoga class you attend it is most important that you honor your body.
What if I am late?
Classes begin on time, so please try to arrive 5-10 minutes early. However, if you are a few minutes late please enter the studio and set up your mat quickly and quietly. Take a few moments to center yourself and them begin the practice with the rest of the class.
Can I eat before class?
Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach. Try not to eat for about two hours before class. If you must eat, something small and nutritious is best.
Is Yoga just stretching?
While stretching is involved, yoga is really about creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility.
I’m not in the best shape, is yoga for me?
It sure is. Students of all shapes and sizes practice yoga. If you are not sure where or how to begin come into Imagine Yoga Studio and one of our knowledgeable teachers will help you find the right yoga class for you and your needs.
How often should I attend classes?
We recommend attending classes AT LEAST twice a week. 3 or 4 times a week is best. The more you practice the better you will feel. Your body and mind will change in ways you didn’t think were possible.
