Tips and Tools to feel Balanced and Grounded this holiday season.

The time from Thanksgiving through the end of the year can be hectic. The invigorating energy of Autumn helps us get an enthusiastic start to the holiday season, but as we transition into Winter we can start to feel drained, overwhelmed, or both. This workshop will provide you with useful tools to get through the holiday season feeling energized, so you can enter the new year grounded, but not depleted. We will touch on the basics of Ayurveda as well as the best food, spices, meditations, aromas, colors, and yoga practice for this time of year. We will end by practicing yoga together and indulging in delicious Ayurvedic snacks.

According to Ayurveda – one of the oldest healing systems in the world – late Winter and early Spring bring an abundance of Kapha dosha. With it comes sluggishness, colds, allergies, mental dullness, attachment, and sometimes depression and weight gain.

This workshop will give an overview of what Ayurveda is and how we can use its wisdom to invigorate, detox and lighten up during the Spring. We will talk about the nutrition, herbs, daily routine and practices that are best for this time of year.

 Expect an hour of discussion about Ayurveda, a 45 minute kapha pacifying yoga flow and 15 minutes to ask questions and try out some Ayurvedic food and drink! If you want to find more energy and feel lighter during the rainy Spring, then this workshop is for you!

Autumn is nature’s last hurrah before entering its decomposition phase. It is a vibrant, bustling, colorful season that brings vata dosha, one of the three constitutions in Ayurveda, out in full force. With an excess of vata dosha comes dryness (yes, even in the Pacific Northwest!), coolness, spaciness, anxiety, hyperactivity, joint pain, irregular appetite, and other issues associated with the air element.

This 2-hour workshop will give you great information about the wisdom of Ayurveda and teach you how to notice when vata is being aggravated, what foods to consume to keep you grounded and centered, and what type of yoga practice is best for this time of year. The workshop will include a 1 hour all levels Vata pacifying flow class. Delicious vata pacifying snacks will be served as well!

Ayurveda Workshop with Courtney Moss

According to Ayurveda – one of the oldest healing systems in the world – summer is the season pitta dosha becomes aggravated. There are three doshas, or constitutions, in Ayurveda – vata, pitta, and kapha. Each person is a different combination of all three (usually with one prevailing), and each season has a dosha associated with it. When pitta dosha is aggravated we are more intense, critical and prone to burnout. This workshop will teach you to stay cool and refreshed in the midst of summer heat and activity. We will cover danacharya (daily routine), how to find a nourishing and relaxing yoga practice, and what foods to eat to keep you cool (with tasty samples). This is a great opportunity to learn more about Ayurveda, yoga’s amazing and healing sister science.

This 2-hour workshop will include a 30-minute discussion on Ayurveda, the doshas, and how to tell if pitta dosha is out of balance. 1 hour of a nourishing, grounding, and calming yoga practice. Followed by 30 minutes of questions answers and food sampling.

Option 1 – Attend only the 2-hour workshop on June 14. Cost: $30.00

Option 2 – Attend the 2-hour workshop on June 14, PLUS 5 days of fun social media challenges to give you a jump-start on your summer routine. This is your opportunity to put what you’ve learned to practice with guidance and support from Courtney! Then, on June 22nd at the 10:30am Flow class join Courtney in a pitta pacifying summer solstice flow to celebrate all you’ve learned and of the arrival of summer. Joel Miller will play guitar during the class and snacks will be served after! Cost: $40.00
